A Veteran’s Experience: How Logan Went From Skeptic to Believer

Hi, I’m Logan, husband of everyone’s favorite TOV team member, Anna!

I've been a full-time barber for almost nine years, trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo for eight years, and have been a part-time soldier for eleven years now with the Minnesota Army National Guard. Both professions and a love for martial arts can take their toll on the body in different ways.

As a barber, I'm on my feet for up to eight hours straight with my arms and hands constantly moving. For the last two years, I have served as the Religious Affairs NCO for Camp Ripley Training Center in Little Falls. Prior to that, I spent nine years as an artilleryman, heaving 100 lb. rounds and performing other various physical tasks, as well as a deployment to Afghanistan. And for Judo and Jiu-jitsu, I'm sure you can imagine the physical impact that has on the body.

I'd always been in the "grin and bear it" or "embrace the suck" camp, but my career choices and hobbies had really taken a toll on my body and mind. Poor posture, headaches, stress, anxiety, low energy, and pain in various places spanning from the head to the shoulders to the knees and toes. All things that had just become a part of my life, not debilitating, but I could tell I wasn't operating at the level that was required of me.

A little over a year ago, my wife started working at TOV Chiropractic, and she convinced me that it was finally time to prioritize my health a little more. I started care at TOV with a lot of skepticism. I was foreign to the methods used and did not have the long-term foresight to see how it could help.

A year later, however, I can attest that I'm in the best shape of my life. I stand taller all day long, the nagging headaches are gone, my energy and ability to adapt to stress are at an all-time high, and any pain is no longer chronic. No six-pack abs yet, but I think that's the pizza's fault.

So, if you're a skeptic like me on the fence, wondering if care at TOV can help you, or already a practice member experiencing retracing or a plateau in progress…Take it from me with the vision of hindsight. Keep with it, because there's no doubt that TOV Chiropractic has been instrumental in improving both my physical and mental health.
