When to See a Chiropractor

Have you ever wondered if Chiropractic care is right for you? In our office we see people for a multitude of health concerns and see many families and individuals for proactive care as well. If you are tired of your current state of health and/or searching for a natural approach to address the root cause of your health concerns, Chiropractic is a great fit for you! There are many common symptoms we see come through the door but chiropractic care is not limited to aches and pain. At TOV we take a proactive approach to overall health, we are driven by faith and proven by our results.

Headaches and Migraines
It is estimated that nearly 47 million Americans suffer from Migraines, 75% of those being women. Although most people think of headaches as the primary symptom of migraines, attacks can include visual disturbances, nausea, light and sound sensitivity, brain fog and all over pain. The typical option for helping migraines and headaches is to reach for medication and hope it provides some relief. However, if we are constantly dealing with headaches and migraines, that amount of medication is a lot to put our body through. Chiropractic care is a great option to achieve true correction with long term results.

Stress
Stress, a word that we can unfortunately all relate to. Stress looks different for everyone. Students may experience increased stress with finals week. Employees might feel heightened stress with deadlines. Parents can experience increased stress with family schedules. According to the American Institute of Stress, 75-90 percent of all primary care physician visits are for stress related problems. Stress can put you at risk for both mental and physical health concerns long term. Your body is either in growth or breakdown mode and we want to get your body to a place of better adaptability to the day to day stress we all experience.

Digestive Issues
Digestive issues can look different for everyone but no matter how the symptoms present, they can put a lot of strain on day to day living. One of the primary drivers of digestion is a nerve called the vagus nerve. It passes with very close proximity to the very top vertebra in your neck called the atlas bone. This nerve is a primary driver of “rest and digest” function in the body. This nerve carries information to the brain from the digestive system and vice versa. Consistent stress on the body can result in interference and inflammation of this nerve cutting off the communication between the brain and digestive system leading to a multitude of issues.

Sleep Issues
Whether it is falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting a restful night of sleep these are common symptoms that we see in our office. Around 30% of adults report suffering from insomnia and 10% say that it impacts their daytime functions. Subluxation puts pressure and irritation on the nerves causing the body to get stuck in a “stress” mode. This limits how well we can rest and digest. One of the most common changes people report with consistent chiropractic care is an improvement in their sleep.

General Aches and Pains
In our office we see people walk through our doors daily who deal with any combination of the following

·       Neck pain

·       Mid back pain

·       Shoulder pain

·       Low back pain

·       Hip pain

·       Knee / ankle / foot pain

Typical solutions to these problems include medication, ice, heat, rest, and in more serious cases, surgery. Majority of those solutions are treating the symptoms vs addressing the root cause of the problem. In our office we find that nerve interference is a common denominator of these various aches and pains. By addressing the root cause our goal for your health is to get your body functioning better, feeling better, and healing better.

At TOV Chiropractic we provide education, information, and hope to everyone who walks through our door. Our goal is for you to know more about your health when you leave then when you came. If you are wondering if chiropractic care is for you reach out and see how we can help.
